Lachlan studied brewing in the early 2000s at Ballarat University. His first job in the brewing industry was at Bluetongue Brewery where he worked from 2004 -2010. Lachlan learnt at Bluetongue the importance of quality systems, processes and production. He is an international beer judge and in 2012 became the founder/owner of Grainfed Brewing.

Grainfed Brewing company started small, using other people’s equipment. After 10 years of testing the market he opened a home for Grainfed, at 52 Young Rd, they are one of the few breweries in Newcastle who make, package and sell all their beers from one site, 52 Young Rd in Lambton. None of it outsourced, think local, drink local.
